A technical workshop on battery system safety was held in Dalian on 22 August 2019. CABIA’s Battery Systems Branch and the systems sub-centre of the National Power Battery Innovation Centre brought participants together to discuss battery-management hardware and software, functional safety, safety classification and data applications. A draft BMS design specification was presented for discussion. The event provides a historical example of collaborative work toward more consistent battery system safety practices.
