SVOLT Energy has begun volume deliveries of short-blade batteries to Vietnamese automotive manufacturer VinFast for its Limo Green electric MPV, reflecting growing cross-border cooperation within Southeast Asia’s electric vehicle supply chain.
In July 2025, SVOLT Energy announced that it had begun volume deliveries of short-blade batteries to VinFast. The batteries will be used in the Vietnamese manufacturer’s Limo Green, a seven-seat electric MPV developed for commercial transport and family mobility.
According to SVOLT Energy, the batteries incorporate its thermally bonded stacking technology and are designed to support energy density, safety, charging performance and cycle life. The cell design also uses ceramic-coated separators and heat-sealed edges as part of its safety and manufacturing approach.
VinFast is part of Vingroup and has developed a growing presence in Vietnam’s electric vehicle market. The cooperation connects battery manufacturing capabilities with vehicle production and market demand in Southeast Asia.
For the wider battery industry, projects of this kind illustrate how technology suppliers and vehicle manufacturers are working across borders to develop regional electric mobility supply chains. They also highlight the importance of product adaptation, manufacturing quality and long-term technical support when entering new markets.
