A 5MWh battery storage system supplied by REPT BATTERO and deployed with BESS Bulgaria complements Bulmetal’s rooftop solar installation, helping the packaging manufacturer manage electricity costs and support production.
Bulgarian metal packaging manufacturer Bulmetal has integrated a containerised battery storage system into its energy infrastructure through cooperation with CABIA member REPT BATTERO and the local BESS Bulgaria team.
In a July 2026 project update, REPT BATTERO reported that the 5MWh installation was operating alongside Bulmetal’s existing rooftop solar system and supporting electricity supply across three factories. The project addresses two priorities for the manufacturer: managing electricity expenditure and maintaining a stable power supply for production.
According to the company, the installation has helped reduce electricity costs and smooth power fluctuations. The source announcement did not provide quantified savings or independent performance data.
The project offers a concrete example of cooperation between an international equipment supplier, a local implementation team and an industrial energy user. It also brings energy storage into a manufacturing setting, where operating schedules and existing infrastructure shape deployment requirements.
For ICC, such projects broaden the picture of CABIA members’ international engagement—from technology exports to locally delivered applications serving industrial users.
