Method and sources

01 Source
Industry figures on this page come from the monthly series published by NGO, which covers production, sales, installation and export volumes for power and energy-storage batteries manufactured in China. Figures about the Committee’s own work come from the Committee’s records.
02 Caliber
Installation figures count battery capacity installed in vehicles produced in China; they exclude exported cells and energy-storage batteries. Headline production, sales and export figures combine power and energy-storage batteries; where this site uses a power-battery-only figure, it says so. We do not derive figures that the source does not publish.
03 Update Frequency
The monthly series is published in the month following the reporting month. This page is updated within {{FACTS_UPDATE_DAYS}} business days of each release. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
04 Revision Process
Figures are shown as published on the date stated. Where a source later revises a figure, we publish the revised figure with its new release date and keep the earlier value visible, rather than replacing it.
05 Boundaries
Forecasts, where shown, are labelled as forecasts and carry the name and position of the person or body that issued them. They are not presented alongside actual figures without that label.
